Volume 1 contains almost chiefly correspondence with John Brathwaite. It also contains an account entitled "One month's pay for the Garrison.". Vol. 2 contains copies of letters from General Munro to the commanding officers of the Southward from 24 October 1781 to 13 January 1782. Vol. 2 also contains "Questions proposed to the Rajah of Tanjore by Sir Hector Munro at a Conference held at the Palace January 6, 1782 with the Rajah's answer, etc." Vol. 3 contains copies of letters from officers commanding the Southward to General Munro from 7 October 1781 to 12 January 1782. Vol. 3 also contains "Translate (sic) of a Persian letter from Aykbar Cawn to Colonel Nixon dated Trichinopoly 7 January 1782." Names of individuals corresponding with Munro include: John Brathwaite, Col. Nixon, the Raja of Tanjore, Ensign Godfrey, Gov. Abbestie, Richard Scott, Basil Cochrane, Aykbar Cawn, Charles Salmon, Robert Gibbings, John Galway and Samuel Crump.
